Ask a Question
2/12/2015 – I recently purchased the DVD set with workbook (2014 edition) for Constitutional Literacy. Do I need the teacher's & student study guide as well or is the new workbook all I need?
Response From The HSLDA Store: If you have the workbook you do not need the Study Guide. On page 11 of the workbook you will find the link to the answer key.
7/2/2014 – Which is compatible with the 1st edition dvd set, the Teacher and Student Study Guides from 2012, or the new workbook from Apologia?
Response From The HSLDA Store: The Study Guide was written for the 1st edition. However, everything in the new workbook except for chapters 5 and 25 will coordinate with the first edition dvd set.
6/4/2014 – Two questions: would this be considered a one semester or full year high school credit?
Do you need the dvd, study guide, and the new workbook? Or does the workbook replace the study guide?
Response From The HSLDA Store: Michael Farris has authored three resources which can be used to teach a high school government course based on the Constitution. The DVD series “Constitutional Literacy” is the basic lecture materials needed for the course. The Apologia workbook/textbook (also entitled Constitutional Literacy) is suitable for grades 7-12. Farris has also written a textbook, Constitutional Law for Enlightened Citizens. The Apologia book contains enrichment and background information about the various provisions of the Constitution and discusses relevant cases. However, in the Constitutional Law textbook students read the actual decisions of the Supreme Court.
When all three resources are used for a course, it is a full year high school government course at the College Prep or Honors level of instruction. When the DVD is used with either of the books, it is a full year high school government course at a normal level of high school instruction.
When using the Constitutional Law text with the DVD series, a syllabus is available that matches the chapters in the book to the episodes on the DVD series. When using the Apologia text, each chapter corresponds exactly with the DVD lecture of the same number.
Send and email to sales@hslda.org to receive a copy of the syllabus mentioned above.
9/12/2012 – Are you expecting to have this study guide available in hard copy in the future?
Response From The HSLDA Store: Yes. We do not have a printing date though.
