Argumentation and Debate: Taking the Next Step helps
you do just that--take the next step forward in your understanding
and application of debate theory. Although this text will aid any
debater, it builds upon the foundation laid in An Introduction
to Policy Debate. Written for the homeschool debater, this text
contains material pertinent for those competing in the National
Christian Forensics and Communications Association.
Utilizing the combined wisdom of multiple authors with high school
and college experience (both as competitors and coaches), the
editors expand upon the theories and strategies introduced in the
first text and also include new material, such as a special section
on value debate. You will find helpful strategies for persuasion,
case construction, refutation, and much more. But even more
importantly, this text takes you back to the foundation of debate,
illuminating debate's classical roots and the importance of
critical thinking from a Christian worldview.
